Leathers and Colour Options for Custom Saddles at Fluffs Saddlery.

Today we will talk about the different leather options and colour options by both brands of custom saddles available on this website.

 

FLUFFS: Fluffs manufacturer have a wide range of different leathers for different purposes. 

 

-Italian or English Butt Leather and Sleek or Grainy Croupon Leather: The purpose of these leathers are for resistance. Every saddle lower flaps, skirts and girthstraps are made in this thicker resistant leather. Colours available in these leathers are traditional Black, different shades of Brown & Tan, Havana and Australian Nut. In some special occasions White, Red & Navy are also available.

 

-Italian Grippy Calfskin: The purpose of this leather is for comfort. Every saddle seat, panels, knee-thigh blocks, Edging, Piping, Keepers and Cantle Face are made in this soft thinner grippy leather offering an easy comfort and ´break in´for the rider. All of our saddles are available with flaps and skirts also covered in this grippy calfskin leather for no additional charge, it is recommended in our opinion. Colours available in these leathers are traditional Black, different shades of Brown & Tan, Havana and Australian Nut & Special colours are endless! Yes! The Fluffs factory is fully stocked with every colour you could imagine including lots of specialized patterns (We will talk about this on another blog post).

 

-Buffalo Leather: This special leather is our deluxe upgrade offering both extra resistance and a grippy soft feel. This leather is mainly used on flaps and skirtings. Available in traditional colours black and several tones of brown. 

 

-Suede: This leather has a similar purpose to the grippy calfskin, its available on seat, panels, knee-thigh blocks, Edging, Piping, Keepers and Cantle Face and is also available to cover flaps and skirts. It offers a different soft grip for comfort. Colours again are endless for suede!

 

 

ZALDI: Zaldi manufacturer have a small range of different leathers for different purposes. 

 

-Sleek or Grainy Croupon Leather: The purpose of these leathers are for resistance. Every saddle lower flaps, skirts and girthstraps are made in this thicker resistant leather. Colours available in these leathers are traditional Black, Brown, London Tan, Toasted tan and Cherry Havana. 

 

-Italian Grippy Calfskin: The purpose of this leather is for comfort. Every saddle seat, panels, knee-thigh blocks, Edging, Piping, Keepers and Cantle Face are made in this soft thinner grippy leather offering an easy comfort and ´break in´for the rider. All of our saddles are available with flaps and skirts also covered in this grippy calfskin leather, for some models its the only option, for others its a free upgrade and for others its an additonal cost, it is recommended in our opinion. Colours available in this leather are traditional Black, Brown, London Tan, Toasted Tan and Cherry Havana plus Special colours Red, Royal Blue, Hot Pink, Lime Green, Neon Green, Yellow, Forest Green, Lilac, Silver and Gold. 

 

-Z PLUS: This material isnt leather, its a leather substitute which is 100% synthetic plus its also 100% Vegan friendly. This material can be used on any area of every saddle for no additional cost. If you are vegan and want to have a 100% vegan friendly saddle, youve come to the right place. Its resistant, water resistant too, lightweight, soft and also grippy. Colours available in this material are Black, Brown, Tan, Red, Light Blue, Light Green and Yellow. 

 

-Suede: This leather has a similar purpose to the grippy calfskin, its available on seat, panels, knee-thigh blocks, Edging, Piping, Keepers and Cantle Face and is also available to cover flaps and skirts. It is an additional cost. It offers a different soft grip for comfort. Colours available in this leather are Black, Brown, London Tan, Toasted Tan, Burgundy, Forest Green, Royal Blue, Navy Blue and Grey.

NO TWO HIDES OF LEATHER ARE THE SAME. IMPORTANT.

 

Its important that we know that no two hides of leather are the same. If you order a saddle in brown and then order another saddle in brown several months later its possible that the shades dont 100% match. If you need a saddle to match another or a certain piece of equipment such as a bridle or girth, please tell us when ordering your saddle so we can check the hides currently available. 

Leather shades dont significantly change as easy to change from super light brown to dark, but they do slightly have a different tone. 

Black is always black and White is always white! Special colours also vary from time to time but less than traditional.
